Alexa is a Registered Nurse with over 10 years of nursing experience and 9 years of experience in cosmetic nursing. Her clinical background includes dialysis, perioperative nursing and post-anaesthetic care.

She has undertaken extensive professional development in aesthetic medicine and regularly attends both Australian and international educational conferences to remain current with evolving evidence, safety standards and best practice. Alexa is a member of the Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons Australasia (ASAPSA) and has participated in cadaver anatomy workshops to further develop her understanding of facial anatomy and patient safety.

Alexa has completed training across a range of non-surgical cosmetic and skin health treatments and is committed to providing patient-centred care guided by clinical assessment, informed consent and individual treatment planning.

With a particular interest in skin health, regenerative aesthetics and women’s health, Alexa takes a holistic approach to patient care, supporting patients to make informed decisions about treatments that align with their individual goals, health considerations and circumstances.

A long-time resident of the Byron Bay region, Alexa lives in the Northern Rivers hinterland with her husband and their two young boys. Outside of clinical practice, she is passionate about supporting women’s health and balancing the demands of family life, business ownership and ongoing professional education.

Laura Barnes

Cosmetic Injectables Nurse

Laura is an Advanced Cosmetic Nurse with over 14 years of clinical experience and qualifications in Nursing and Health Science. Having worked alongside leading plastic and reconstructive surgeons, she has developed extensive expertise in regenerative and aesthetic medicine.

Laura specialises in advanced cosmetic treatments including biostimulators, dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle treatments, PDO threads, skin boosters, and facial rejuvenation procedures. Combining medical knowledge with an artistic eye, she is passionate about achieving natural, balanced, and evidence-based results tailored to each individual.

Known for her meticulous attention to detail and holistic approach to patient care, Laura takes the time to create personalised treatment plans through thorough consultations, ensuring patients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their aesthetic journey. Committed to clinical excellence and patient safety, she regularly undertakes advanced training and attends industry conferences to remain at the forefront of cosmetic medicine and emerging technologies.

Amy moved her family to the Northern Rivers four years ago after falling in love with the region more than a decade earlier. Drawn to its natural beauty and outdoor lifestyle, she knew it was the perfect place to raise her growing family.

With over 25 years of industry experience, business ownership, nursing and massage qualifications, Amy brings a wealth of knowledge to Aesthetica, both in the treatment room and behind the scenes.

Having worked with Dermaviduals for many years, Amy has a particular interest in barrier-supportive and regenerative therapies. She is continually researching new treatments that align with our skin health philosophy and leads the introduction of innovative services at Aesthetica.

Passionate about creating personalised treatment plans, Amy takes a holistic approach to achieving long-term skin health. She combines clinical expertise with genuine client connection and a nurturing touch to create treatments that support both the skin and nervous system.

As a specialist in therapeutic massage and advanced facials, Charlotte addresses skin concerns, while offering a truly restorative experience. Hannah Pogrund

Nutritionist

Hannah is super passionate about health, wellness and beauty and the connections between them all. With a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Nutritional Medicine and over 4 years of experience with us here, she brings a wealth of skin knowledge to her position.

Hannah’s journey was inspired by her own battle with acne, leading her to explore the profound impact nutrition has on on the skin and overall well-being. This fueled her desire to help others optimise their skin health and transform their lives.

Hannah develops personalised treatment plans by conducting comprehensive assessments of health history, diet, pathology results, and lifestyle to target not only symptoms but the underlying causes of health issues. She offers a balanced and holistic approach to health and wellness, specialising in acne - and is the perfect link between the external and internal world of skin health here at Aestheticà.

Charlotte Lord

Originally from Wellington, New Zealand, Charlotte brings a wealth of knowledge and over 14 years of experience to Aestheticà. After training as a Dermal Clinician in NZ, she moved to Melbourne where her passion for skin health and dermal therapies flourished. She spent seven years at a leading Melbourne skin clinic, working as both a Dermal Therapist and Clinic Manager, where she honed her skills in treating complex skin conditions and personalising treatments to each client’s unique needs.

Drawn to the natural beauty and slower pace of Byron Bay, Charlotte was immediately aligned with Aestheticà’s holistic philosophy and calming environment. She believes that internal health—mind, body, and soul—deeply influences the skin’s appearance. Her focus is on restoring and preserving skin health while fostering meaningful connections with her clients.

Charlotte has been working with Dermaviduals for many years and strongly values their customised, barrier-supportive approach. With her "less is more" philosophy, she helps clients achieve radiant, resilient skin from the inside out while creating a nurturing and empowering treatment experience.

Originally from Austria and now local to Northern NSW, Dr Rickcord has practiced in Australia for a decade. She has been a local GP for a number of years and brings her vast experience and knowledge to the Aesthetica team to oversee the cosmetic work at the clinic.
